Born in Laredo, TX, and raised in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas; Castillo has an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Laredo Community College. While a student at LCC, she received the Leadership Award for involvement in extracurricular activities and served a one-year term as President of the MOA Club at LCC assisting with various activities. In 2011, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M International University, where she later obtained a Master’s Degree in International Business.

Castillo joined the City of Laredo as the Programs Administrator for the Economic Development Department and was later on appointed Director for the department. In her new role, she oversees department operations and along with her team, works in the planning, development, and implementation of programs, projects, and strategies to attract business and promote economic growth for the city. In this capacity, she serves as the liaison participating and collaborating with industry associations at the local, state, and international levels. 

Castillo serves on different boards and committees, including the Advisory Committee at MileOne-International Business Assistance Center program of the Laredo Economic Development Center and the LC Economic Development Center IMPACT Advisory Committee. She also serves as the Club Administrator of the Laredo Daybreak Rotary Club.

Nacida en Laredo, TX y criada en Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas; Castillo tiene una Tecnicatura en Ciencias Aplicadas de Laredo Community College. Mientras estudiaba en LCC, recibió el Premio de Liderazgo por su participación en actividades extracurriculares y sirvió durante un período de un año como presidenta del Club MOA en LC ayudando con diversas actividades. En 2011, obtuvo su Licenciatura en Administración de Empresas de la Universidad Internacional Texas A&M, donde luego obtuvo una Maestría en Negocios Internacionales.

Castillo se unió a la Ciudad de Laredo como Administrador de Programas del Departamento de Desarrollo Económico y luego fue nombrado Director del departamento. En su nuevo cargo, supervisa las operaciones del departamento y, junto con su equipo, trabaja en la planificación, desarrollo e implementación de programas, proyectos y estrategias para atraer negocios y promover el crecimiento económico de la ciudad. En esta capacidad, sirve como enlace participando y colaborando con asociaciones industriales a nivel local, estatal e internacional.

Castillo forma parte de diferentes juntas y comités, incluido el Comité Asesor del programa MileOne-International Business Assistance Center del Centro de Desarrollo Económico de Laredo y el Comité Asesor IMPACT del Centro de Desarrollo Económico de LC. También se desempeña como administradora del club rotario Laredo Daybreak.
