Expanding for the Future: Laredo World Trade Bridge Expansion Project
As trade with Mexico continues to boom, so does traffic at Port Laredo. To meet this growing demand, we’re expanding the World Trade Bridge. This major project includes:
More Lanes: A new eight-lane bridge for northbound commercial traffic and widened lanes for southbound traffic to reduce congestion.
- Enhanced Security: Advanced security measures ensure safe and efficient trade for all crossings.
- Built to Last: Upgraded concrete pavement improves durability and long-term efficiency.
- Improved Trade Flow: Increased capacity, faster processing, and enhanced safety for a smoother cross-border experience.
The World Trade Bridge expansion project, with its presidential permit granted on May 31st, 2024, is anticipated to reach completion by 2026.
